To obtain a CT PNS coronal view, the patient must lie face down on the scanning table with their hard palate perpendicular to the gantry, while an CT PNS axial view requires the person to keep their hard palate perpendicular to the scanning table. If a patient is unable to lie prone for a coronal scan, a computer-generated reconstructed coronal view can be obtained from axial sections.
